3-D Cone Beam X-ray Unit

Traditional dental x-rays are 2-dimensional. While they are useful in diagnosing common dental issues such as tooth decay or periodontal disease, they are limited in terms of detail and accuracy. Our cone beam unit can capture a high-definition 3-D representation of your teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures such as the mandibular nerves and the maxillary sinuses. The final x-ray is obtained through a series of radiographic pictures that are stitched together, resulting in an anatomically-accurate image.

The final diagnostic image can be manipulated and viewed from any perspective, which allows Dr. Arooni to plan treatments with unmatched precision. This is particularly useful in dental implant placement. Because the cone beam unit can provide exact measurements, the height and width of the bone can be assessed to determine what size implant will be the most beneficial. Additionally, by evaluating the jawbone density, Dr. Arooni can determine which location will yield the most successful long-term results.

Conventional 2-D dental x-rays often take several minutes to complete. Our 3-D cone beam unit can perform an entire scan in less than one minute. It also emits 90 percent less radiation than traditional x-ray machines, making it a safer and more efficient option for our patients.

iTero® Scanner for Digital Impressions

Traditionally, dental impressions required a mouthful of messy dental material, which often led to significant discomfort and gagging. For this reason, many patients still dread dental impressions – and understandably so.

Our ground-breaking iTero® intraoral scanner eliminates the mess and the anxiety of conventional impressions. Using a small handheld wand, several images are taken of your teeth and uploaded directly to our computer screen in a matter of minutes. The iTero® is versatile in its use, and can aid in the fabrication of custom mouth guards, Invisalign® trays, and restorations, such as inlays, onlays, crowns, and bridges.

E4D Restorative Software

Our iTero® scanner is used in conjunction with E4D restorative software. Using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), this revolutionary technology allows us to design and fabricate custom restorations with astounding precision. Once the initial images have been captured by iTero® and uploaded to our E4D software, Dr. Arooni in Chandler can expertly design your restoration, carefully modifying it to fit your unique features.

Once the restoration has been designed, the image files can be uploaded to our in-office milling station. Amazingly, this gives us the ability to craft custom restorations in a matter of hours, eliminating the need for a dental lab.
