What is Invisalign?

The thin, plastic aligners are worn for the majority of the day and are easy to take care of. Invisalign aligners gradually shift your teeth into the perfect position. Each set of aligners is customized to fit your mouth and provide you with the greatest cosmetic benefits possible. Adults prefer Invisalign to traditional braces because they’re less noticeable than wire braces. The only thing people will notice about your Invisalign aligners is how beautiful your smile is getting and how much straighter your teeth will soon be.
Another advantage of Invisalign is that you can straighten your teeth without the food restrictions of metal brackets and bands. Since the aligners come out at meal times, you’re free to eat anything you want. In fact, you’re also free to remove aligners for important business meetings, photographs, and first dates, as well. How Does Invisalign Work?
Dr. Arooni will begin your Invisalign appointment by answering any questions you may have. This is a great time to ask any last-minute questions that may be holding you back from completely loving your decision to straighten your teeth. Once you feel comfortable with your decision to choose Invisalign, Dr. Arooni will take impressions of your teeth to help him create the best treatment plan for your unique smile. He will then explain your treatment plan with you. He will answer questions about how long he feels you should wear your Invisalign aligners and how to properly care for them to reach the maximum benefits possible. Most patients wear their aligners anywhere from 9-15 months, which is a significantly shorter duration than patients usually wear traditional braces.
Dr. Arooni will send your impressions to the Invisalign lab, where the technicians will create your unique set of aligners. Once the aligners are sent back to us, we will teach you how to put the aligners in and take them out. These are both very easy processes, but we don’t want to leave you wondering about anything. You should change your aligners every two weeks, don’t worry we’ll send you home with a supply that will last you. It is recommended that you wear your Invisalign aligners for the majority of the day, only taking them out to brush, floss, and eat. Rather than attending multiple appointments to tighten your traditional braces, we encourage you to come in every 6 weeks, so that we can check the progress of your orthodontic treatment and make sure that the aligners are doing their job correctly.
