Replace Your Missing Tooth With
An Implant Crown in Chandler

Mark Arooni DDS Dental Implant Procedure

You can replace a missing tooth with a permanent and natural-looking single dental implant that benefits your oral health by mimicking the missing tooth’s root, as well as filling in the gap it has left between teeth.

Whether you lost a tooth because of gum disease, extreme tooth decay, necessary extraction, or an accident, an implant in Chandler will help keep your jawbone strong and your other teeth from shifting due to the space.

Dr. Arooni and team can help you replace your missing tooth with a single dental implant at our Chandler, AZ office.

Importance of Replacing Missing Teeth in Chandler

Replacing a missing tooth helps you maintain the functions of your full set of teeth, which include eating, talking, and smiling. Problems that can arise from avoiding replacement of a missing tooth include:

  • Jawbone deterioration
  • Shifting teeth

These two processes can then lead to additional issues.

Bone tissue deterioration can give your mouth a sunken appearance, causing you to appear aged or ill. Resorption occurs when the jawbone no longer receives stimulation from a tooth root and is the process by which your facial appearance changes.

Shifting teeth around the gap left by a missing tooth can lead to bite issues that could cause symptoms of TMJ disorder and increased risk for gum disease. Malocclusion can affect ability to chew and eat.

For these reasons, replacing a missing tooth at Mark Arooni DDS as soon as possible after the loss is critical to maintaining a mouth in good health.

Missing an anterior, or front, tooth can also cause speech and self-esteem issues. Speech is affected by teeth and missing one or several can affect one’s ability to pronounce words. Some people will avoid showing their smile if one of the most prominent front teeth is absent.

Single Dental Implants

Compared to other tooth replacements, such as a bridge device, a dental implant functions similarly to a natural tooth with a root and crown structure.

A dental implant at Mark Arooni DDS in Chandler is composed of three parts:

  • Titanium implant
    • Placed in the jawbone during a day surgery
  • Abutment (also made of titanium)
    • Attached to the titanium implant, will connect implant to crown
  • Crown (porcelain and/or composite resin material)
    • Screwed or cemented to abutment

Implant Procedure

After initial planning that includes consultation, discussion of your needs, and x-rays of the soft and hard tissues of your mouth, Dr. Arooni will place the implant in the jawbone.

Initial Planning

During your consultation appointment with Dr. Arooni at Mark Arooni DDS, you will need to disclose medical history that could affect the process and outcome of the dental surgery required for implant placement. This discussion is to make sure that you are a suitable candidate, healthy enough for the day surgery and to receive anesthesia and treatment.

After determining your candidacy, Dr. Arooni will use x-ray imaging and scanning to evaluate the soft and hard tissues of your mouth. From the detailed images produced, Dr. Arooni will have the information needed to determine the best placement and angle for the dental implant, based on bone density and gum health.

Implant Placement

Dr. Arooni will place your dental implant based on information from the digital treatment planning. You will receive local anesthesia for the procedure, which typically takes approximately two hours.

After the procedure, you will be able to drive home and carry on with your usual routine. You should follow instructions for what soft foods you can eat and how to care for your mouth as it is healing.

In some cases, the implant, abutment, and crown can be placed in one procedure.
