Transforming Your Smile with
Porcelain Veneers in Chandler

Dentist Chandler AZ Cosmetic Dentistry

A custom smile that you design with your dentist can do wonders for your self-confidence. Experienced cosmetic dentist Dr. Mark Arooni in Chandler, AZ believes everyone should have a smile that they love to share. While options such as teeth whitening and orthodontic treatments can adjust the way your teeth look, teeth might stain again or shift after treatment. Porcelain veneers can whiten and straighten the appearance of teeth, while permanently changing your smile. Porcelain veneers can also cover cracks, repair chipped edges, and close gaps between teeth.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Custom-designed, thin, porcelain shells bond to the front of teeth, altering your smile the way you want it to look. This permanent cosmetic treatment requires an initial consultation with Dr. Arooni so that he can understand precisely what you want to change. He will also evaluate whether porcelain veneers are the most suitable choice for your needs. Porcelain veneers require some removal of existing teeth enamel for the veneers to fit correctly on teeth, which makes it even more important that you discuss your objectives for your smile design in detail with Dr. Arooni.

Are Porcelain Veneers Right for Me?

I have a chipped front tooth.

  • One veneer can restore the chipped front tooth and Dr. Arooni in Chandler can match it to the color of your other teeth to make it fit in seamlessly.

I want my teeth to appear whiter and brighter.

  • You can choose the shade of your porcelain veneers to make sure your smile looks natural and you feel your best. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than normal enamel and can last between ten to twenty years.

I don’t like the shape of a few of my front teeth.

  • Working with Dr. Arooni at Mark Arooni DDS, you can customize the shape of your porcelain veneers to reflect the changes you wish to see in your smile. Additionally, between the time Dr. Arooni prepares your teeth for placement and the ceramist manufactures your porcelain veneers, you can request adjustments while you try out temporary veneers if the shape isn’t quite right yet.

I have slight gaps between my teeth and don’t want to deal with braces.

  • Porcelain veneers can close the spaces between your teeth and change the shape of your smile, instead of the alternative option of orthodontic treatment. Braces or Invisalign® can be uncomfortable for some people and require time and commitment.

Porcelain Veneer Process in Chandler

After determining whether porcelain veneers will meet your needs, you will discuss a mockup of your smile transformation and choose a tooth shade from a chart with Dr. Arooni. At the first clinical appointment, Dr. Arooni will prepare your teeth and take impressions from which the ceramist will create permanent porcelain veneers. Preparing the teeth involves removing a small amount of enamel to make room for the porcelain veneers and bonding.

You will wear temporary veneers while the ceramist makes your permanent veneers. Temporary veneers offer a preview of what your smile transformation will look like. While wearing your temporary veneers, tell Dr. Arooni if you want to change anything about your final veneers, such as the shade or shape.

After Dr. Arooni receives the final, customized veneers, he will place them at a second appointment. Once he has removed the temporary veneers and cleaned the teeth, Dr. Arooni will adhere the final porcelain veneers, curing each veneer with a special light to permanently attach it to the tooth.

Taking Care of Porcelain Veneers
Once placed, brush and floss your porcelain veneers as you would your natural teeth. Use a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste. Consider reducing intake of stain-inducing foods like coffee and carrots; brush after consuming these foods whenever possible. Additionally, if you clench or grind your teeth at night, Dr. Arooni might recommend and design a nightguard for you to help prevent damage to your porcelain veneers.

Durable and comfortable, porcelain veneers serve you well for up to ten to twenty years following placement. Although proper oral hygiene will prolong the use of your veneers, you will eventually need to replace them.
